Martifer Solar began its activities in Spain in 2007 as part of the general expansion of the Martifer Group, which had already set up in this country in november 1999. From beginning its activities in Spain, it has participated in the construction of more than 35 MW of solar photovoltaic plants and become one of the driving forces in the sector. The presence of Martifer Solar in this country signified the beginning of the company’s international expansion, into the most dynamic market with the strongest growth in all Europe.
The experience acquired with large plants like that of Vinaceite in Teruel, with 8.8 MW, as well as with spectacular architecturally integrated facilities such as that installed in Madrid’s Crystal Tower, the highest architecturally integrated solar photovoltaic installation in the World, has given martifer solar a recognised know-how and reasons for entering the main European markets, such as Italy or Greece.
Martifer Solar has carried out turnkey projects in Spain and has participated in others as the installer, adapting always to the client’s needs and thanks to its bottom-up business strategy. At the end of 2008 Martifer Solar will have installed more than 35 MW of photovoltaic solar energy in Spain, enough to supply electric power to 19,000 Spanish homes, and it will have prevented the emission of more than 67,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
