With this appointment, Martifer Solar reinforces its activities in Spain, one of the markets for renewable energies with the best outlook at worldwide level. As General Manager of Martifer Solar, Alberto Rabanal will take on the supervision and administration functions of the company. Among the responsibilities of his new position, Rabanal will endeavour to boost Martifer results in the Spanish and European marketplace by enhancing company presence. He must also organize the structure of the firm’s development strategy plan and coordinate its expansion and consolidation in our country. His main objective for this year is to position the company among the reference firms in the world photovoltaic solar energy market.
Martifer Solar has been in Spain for one year and in this period has participated in the commissioning of 35 MW of photovoltaic solar energy in plants in different phases of implementation. Martifer Solar has penetrated the sector by offering a global business approach that extends from the production of modules (its factory of 50 MWp, enlargeable to 100, will be operational in October) through to project financing, and includes the stages of engineering, installation and maintenance. Martifer Solar is part of the Martifer Group, a major Iberian company dedicated to construction and renewable energies (wind and wave power, solar and biofuels).
The Martifer group is present in 15 countries on five continents and has more than 2,000 workers on the payroll. Its strength as a group means that Martifer Solar can finance photovoltaic solar energy projects by having ample credit lines available from top-rank banking companies. Following the example of the parent company, Martifer Solar is already present in Italy, Greece, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the United States, and its expansion will continue to wherever the solar photovoltaic business is interesting for the group strategy.
Martifer Solar has undertaken the implementation of the highest solar infrastructure in the world, on the roof of the Crystal Tower in Madrid, located 245 metres above the ground, which signified a major challenge for its engineers for constructional difficulties and assuring safety in the workplace. It is also close to inaugurating a 8.7 MW plant in the town of Vinaceite, in Teruel province.
