Martifer Solar has participated in the first edition of Rome PV Mediterranean, the appointment of the Italian capital with the renewable energies. The fair of Rome has worked as a showcase for the company to convey to the market its ability to become a leader in the solar photovoltaic energy in Europe. Dozens of professional entities had contacts with the staff of Martifer attending the stand, confirming the fact that the company is raising a growing interest among the public in each exhibition it participates.
Martifer Solar has been able to explain its goals in Italy to potential customers materialized with the first solar plants that are currently being finalised in the South of Italy totalling more than 1MW, as a result of its performance in this new market which the strategy is defined in Milan, and the experience of having participated in the implementation of over 38 MW of photovoltaic solar plants in Spain. This know-how highly valued by the people interested in Martifer, enables the company to undertake medium and large projects highly profitable in Italy.
Investors have also been very interested in the 360º service the company can offer, starting from its own production of modules in Oliveira de Frades, Northern Portugal, in a fully automated plant with a production capacity of 50 MW per year expandable to 100 MW. The production of Martifer high quality modules begins at the end of 2008.
Pedro Pereira, country manager of Martifer Solar in Italy, was invited to participate in a panel discussion within the conferences organised by the fair. Pereira described in his speech the various stages of implementing a large photovoltaic plant as the ones Martifer is developing in Italy, and emphasised "the need to build highly profitable and efficient large solar plants in Italy, and the growing call for these plants to be build by vertically integrated companies such as Martifer Solar."
Pedro Pereira has defined as highly positive the participation of Martifer Solar in the Rome exhibition, "a forum in which a company like Martifer Solar must be present in order to be close to its target". The company has made important contacts at the Rome fair, from which new business opportunities are expected to arise. Martifer Solar will also participate in the renewable energies exhibition PV Tech, at Milano, in November.
