Martifer Solar finishes the construction of its first solar photovoltaic plants in Italy.
Located in Vaglio di Basilicata, and with a total power of more than 1MW, the plants could supply the needs of 450 households per year.
Martifer Solar successfully completed the installation of its first solar photovoltaic plants in Italy. The company, based in Milan, has completed the installations in a record time of less than three months. The plants, divided into 21 sections are implemented on two-axis solar trackers for a total power of 1.016 MWp, generating enough energy to supply the needs of 450 households and saving the emission of more than 2.000 T of CO2 per year.
The solar photovoltaic plants that Martifer Solar has installed in Vaglio, province of Potenza, are the largest photovoltaic facility of the Basilicata Region, adding more than the total capacity installed and connected to the grid at the moment in the whole province of Potenza. These plants are also among the 10 largest connected to the grid in Italy, which ranks Martifer Solar between the companies at the forefront in solar photovoltaic installation in this country.
Pedro Pereira, Country Manager of Martifer Solar in Italy explains the challenges that the company has faced in order to frame these plants in the old energetic decree (‘vechio conto energia’), as a proof of its adaptation capacity to the customer needs, one of the company’s competitive advantages: “from the beginning, we faced this project as a tough challenge due to the several constraints imposed by its extremely tight deadlines. On the top of that, despite our experience in the Spanish market, this was our first project in Italy. I am happy we have managed to fulfill all the project requirements within the scheduled deadline. This, together with our customer closeness and flexibility, ultimately led to our customer's satisfaction which is the most rewarding feedback we can expect to receive. After succeeding in this trial, we feel even more prepared to tackle further challenges in Italy where we intend to put in place a large pipeline of MW”.
Since January 2008, Martifer Solar is present in Italy, one of the fast growing markets in the World, in the photovoltaic sector.
