Solar photovoltaic projects in Greece

Greece has become a very interesting market for Martifer Solar. The Greek government has drawn up legislation to promote the development of photovoltaic solar energy with a number of incentives and a very attractive price rate.

The government's aim is to have plants installed and delivering 700 MW by 2020. The Greek government pays between 0.40 and 0.50 Euro-cents per KW of photovoltaic solar energy produced, depending on whether the plant is located on the islands or the mainland.

As Martifer Solar is one of the main European suppliers of solar photovoltaic plants turnkey solutions, we propose to offer Greece our experience, technology and financial standing and provide the best solutions for Greek investors. It is hoped to achieve a position of leadership in the market in three years. Greece has signified a challenge for Martifer expansion.

The cultural difference that Martifer Solar has encountered in the Greek Market has required great flexibility and a capacity to adapt on our part and this is reflected in our strategy for penetrating this market through a joint venture with a local company. The Martifer Solar CFO for Greece, Joao Figueiredo affirms that “our adaptation to the Greek market and our human potential in this country will mean that in 3 years we will have 30% of the market share and become the foremost solar photovoltaic company in Greece”.
