The Benfica stadium in Lisbon was built for the Euro Cup event held in Portugal in 2004. Martifer took charge of the whole suspended roof, a major work since only the pitch is open.
The roof has an area of 42,000 m² for which 3,000 tons of metal structures were used. To carry out this work Martifer had to design a novel 3D computer program that allowed the sophisticated lattice-work of the roof to be pre-visualized and to conduct virtual acoustics trials.
