The Benfica stadium in Lisbon was built for the Euro Cup event held in Portugal in 2004. Martifer took charge of the whole suspended roof, a major work since only the pitch is open.
The roof has an area of 42,000 sqm for which 3,000 tons of metal structures were used. To carry out this work Martifer had to design a novel 3D computer program that allowed the sophisticated lattice-work of the roof to be pre-visualized and to conduct virtual acoustics trials.
